Kate’s journey has always been defined by the pursuit of excellence—both on and off the ice.
Her athletic career began early, competing against boys in organized hockey by age six and earning recognition as one of Canada’s top female athletes. She was even identified as a potential candidate for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
After her competitive career, Kate turned her attention to understanding what drives consistency and confidence under pressure. She earned two Master’s degrees with distinction—one in applied sport psychology and another in general psychology with a concentration in family psychology—equipping her with a deep understanding of human performance and behavior.
For more than a decade, Kate has worked with professional athletes across the NHL, AHL, MLB, NFL, PGA, LPGA, UFC, and Supercross, as well as Olympic, collegiate, and youth athletes. Her clients also include Navy SEALs, Marine fighter pilots, and business professionals performing at the highest levels.
Kate’s approach blends science-based mental training with the lived experience of being an elite athlete herself. She helps clients build self-trust, focus under pressure, and perform with consistency and clarity. She’s also the author of three books, including the Amazon Best-Seller Get Into the Zone, which shares practical tools for mastering the mental game.

"The mental side is huge. Kate has done wonders for me. It's a big deal to work on that side of things...All I am trying to do is make myself better in every facet possible."
Colt Nichols,
Pro Supercross & Motocross athlete
2021 250SX East Champion
"Kate helped me propel my hockey career to a new level...I owe a great debt to Kate for my career, and I am still using what she taught me even now in my life after playing."
Kevin Boyle,
Retired Professional Hockey Player
"I competed for Team USA for 10+ years. I was in a losing slump when I decided to reach out to Kate. She absolutely changed my life and my competition results. I did both the private coaching as well as guided imagery for sport. I highly recommend both. I always thought that I had to be at a ten to perform well, but Kate convinced me otherwise. With her help, I had the best performance and results of my athletic career. Now as a coach myself, I recommend mental training and Kate to all of my athletes."
Leilani Akiyama, Retired Judo Athlete
(2020 Pan American Silver Medalist Judo Championship)
“I have been swimming competitively most of my life. However, I noticed that the only thing stopping me from getting where I wanted to be, was my mental state. I was doubting myself behind the blocks, not racing the way I was training. Through the year that I’ve been talking with Kate, I’ve seen a lot of progression and growth. Not only does Kate provide a safe space to talk, she provides me with exercises that are specific to my character and progress. Overall, Kate has guided me in finding ways to manage my stress and nerves. She has helped me to progress towards my goals outside and inside the pool.”
"The mental side is one thing that has always been a struggle of mind. Kate has really helped me a lot in improving my mental side of racing. She gave me countless tools to improve my racing and day to day life."
Gavin Towers,
Professional Supercross & Motocross athlete
"After competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a few years, I realized my main challenge was my competition mindset. I had done well and won some higher-level tournaments; however I was inconsistent and my game day mentality was all over the place. After losing in the finals at the 2022 Pan Championships, I contacted Kate, and we began building my mental game. After working with Kate and employing the techniques she explained to me, I won the following year’s Pan Championships’ Absolute class. One of the most valuable lessons I learned from Kate is creating action plans to help overcome any situation that might arise. These contingency plans and the confidence to overcome whatever comes the day of competing, are invaluable and what the highest level of champions have mastered. I use these action plans daily. Any time spent with Kate Allgood is time well invested."

Jiu Jitsu World Champion
