MENTAL TRAINING THAT FITS AROUND YOUR LIFE IN SPORT
School, training, competition and travel can make adding another appointment challenging. Virtual coaching gives Los Angeles athletes access to dedicated mental performance training without an additional trip across the city.
Kate coaches competitive youth, collegiate and professional athletes. You may be preparing for a new level, navigating selection or returning after a setback. You may also want to make mental training a consistent part of your development while things are going well.
Your starting point might be overthinking during competition, carrying mistakes into the next play or feeling less confident when expectations rise. Together, we identify what would be useful to train and connect it to the situations you encounter in your sport.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING VIRTUAL MENTAL PERFORMANCE COACHING?
You meet directly with Kate by video from a quiet, private space. Sessions use your recent training and competition experiences to explore what you noticed, how you responded and what you want to develop.
The training may involve practicing an attention reset, rehearsing your response to a difficult moment or adjusting how you prepare and recover. You also explore the thoughts, emotions and expectations influencing you, so the practices have a clear connection to your experience.
Between sessions, you bring that training into your sport. You practice, observe and return with feedback. This creates an ongoing process of learning and adjustment as you build greater ownership of how you prepare and compete.

IS COACHING AVAILABLE IN PERSON IN LOS ANGELES?
Coaching for Los Angeles athletes is virtual only. Kate is based in San Diego and provides these sessions through live, one-to-one video calls.
You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private place where you can participate comfortably. Standard individual sessions are approximately 45 55 minutes. For younger athletes, session format and parent involvement are discussed during the introductory conversation.
We discuss appointment availability and how sessions can fit around your training, school, work and competition schedule before you begin

Kate combines firsthand experience in collegiate and professional hockey with more than 16 years of mental performance coaching. She holds master’s degrees in Applied Sport Psychology and General Psychology, and spent four seasons consulting with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls. Her coaching connects an understanding of each athlete with practical training they can apply in their sport.

“I was struggling with my golf game, not only physically but mentally as well. I decided to go see Kate to see if she could help with the state of mind I was in with my game. After the first time I saw her I felt extremely relaxed and I even felt happier. She helped me clear out the negative and distracting thoughts and helped me replace them with positive reinforcing thoughts. Kate has clearly helped me elevate my game to a new level, and I have never felt this mentally strong on a golf course before.”
